Chairman
Calder Claydon was educated at Chavagnes International College and reads Theology, Religion, and Ethics at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham.
Calder works for a political consultancy firm in Mayfair, alongside his role as a Parliamentary Assistant and Researcher in the House of Lords.
Father Mark Elliott Smith, M.A. (London), Cert. Theol. (Oxon)
Assistant Chaplain to the Challoner Club
Father Mark Elliott Smith was educated at the Royal Academy of Music, Heythrop College, and St. Stephen’s House, Oxford.
After sixteen years of ministry in the Church of England, Father Mark was ordained in the Catholic Church for the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. Father Mark is the Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Assumption and Saint Gregory, Warwick Street and a Magistral Chaplain of the Order of Malta.
Francisc Vladovici-Poplauschi
Vice Chairman
Francisc Vladovici-Poplauschi reads History at Girton College, Cambridge.
Francisc serves as the Social Officer of the Cambridge University Conservative Assocation and Secretary of the Cambridge University Heraldic and Genealogical Society.
Mary-Clement Mannering, B.A. (Hons.)
Social Media Officer
Mary-Clement Mannering read Creative Media at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the SAINTS Magazine.
She works for the Diocese of Westminster as a Content Producer.
Philippe Gamito, M.Sc. (Oxon)
Officer without Portfolio
Philippe Gamito read taxation law at Oxford University and is the recipient of the (2017) Christopher E. Bergin Award for excellence in writing.
He is a Senior Tax Associate a Baker McKenzie in London and regularly contributes to international tax journals. He is a husband and a father of two.
Ben Fowler, B.A. (Hons.)
Director of Music
Ben Fowler grew up in Edinburgh and read International Finance at the University of Strathclyde, during which time he was also Organ Scholar at the University of Glasgow.
He is the Bursar of Fidelis College, an independent Catholic school in London and serves as a Trustee of the Friends of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham.
Father Christian de Lisle
Chaplain to the Challoner Club
Father Christian de Lisle was educated at Harrow School and read History at the University of Edinburgh.
After his degree, he went on to study at Allen Hall Seminary and was ordained in 2016. Father Christian is the Parish Priest of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Sunbury-upon-Thames.
John Harvey
Events Officer
John Harvey grew up in Gloucester and reads Theology at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham.
Since 2023, John has worked for a Parish in the Archdiocese of Southwark, assisting with their youth work and catechism programs. John assists with overseeing, alongside the Chairman, the organising of events and receptions.
Daniel Dalton, M.Sc., MRICS
City of London Officer
Daniel Dalton grew up in Yorkshire and read Surveying at Northumbria University and Real Estate Finance at LSE.
A full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he is currently a Senior Consultant in the City Ofice of a global property services firm. Daniel is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers, and Guild of Young Freemen.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee meets once a month to vote on proposals for Club Membership.
All Members of the Membership Committee are appointed by the Chairman, with the agreement of the Vice-Chairman.
